Honda Plans Highway Test of Wireless Charging for Moving Trucks
Honda is preparing a highway test of wireless charging technology designed to power trucks while they are in motion, a development that could reduce charging stops and ease one of the biggest operational constraints facing electrified freight. The system, developed by Honda’s research arm with two partner firms, would transfer electricity from road-embedded charging units to vehicles travelling above them, pointing to a potentially significant shift in long-haul logistics and road infrastructure planning.
