Public Sector Banks, Regional Rural Banks to Operate on September 27 as Government Seeks to Avert Disruption
The Finance Ministry has said all Public Sector Banks and Regional Rural Banks will remain open and operate normally on September 27, despite a proposed three-day nationwide bank strike by the United Forum of Bank Unions. The move is aimed at ensuring uninterrupted access to essential banking services for customers across India. The announcement signals the governmentโs intent to protect routine financial activity, including cash withdrawals, deposits, transfers and branch-based services, at a time when any disruption could affect households, small businesses and rural borrowers.
